Guild For the Blind Offers Job Skills Training for People with Vision Loss

Chicago, January 27, 2012 -- The Guild for the Blind will again offer a free, three week job readiness program "Creating Employment Opportunities" (C.E.O.). The program helps to prepare individuals with vision loss for the current job market. Students learn to confidently self promote their skills and talents in this free workshop, which focuses on subjects like networking, interviewing, resumes, and organization strategies. The Program will run from March 5 to March 16 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm each day in the office at 65 E. Wacker Place in Chicago. Read more about our upcoming CEO class.

Workshop helps clients navigate government resources

Chicago, March 18, 2011 – Cutting Through the Red Tape – Navigating Government Resources is a new workshop developed by the Guild for the Blind to assist their clients navigate the government resources to insure a positive experience in their rehabilitation process. Government agencies who provide rehabilitation and other services will be represented at this workshop on Thursday, April 7 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at the Guild office located at 65 E. Wacker Place, Suite 1010 in Chicago. Read more

Guild for the Blind offers help in 'Expanding Your Social Circle'

CHICAGO, March 16, 2011 – The Guild for the Blind will offer the fourth course in the Savvy Socializing series, entitled "Expanding Your Social Circle," to provide people with vision loss interested in making new friends strategies on where to start. Read more

Guild for the Blind moving to new office in February

CHICAGO, January 31, 2011 -- After more than 30 years in its current location, the Guild for the Blind's office is moving to a new expanded downtown Chicago location. The office will move to 65 East Wacker Place, Suite 1010 in late February. The move enables the Guild to offer a wider variety of services for people with vision loss. The move takes the Guild for the Blind one block north and half a block west from the current Michigan Avenue location. Read more
