Jalapeños in the Oatmeal
"Glasses got to be a bother.
Toward the end, I wore them all the time so I'd know where they were. If I set them down, I'd never find them. Messing with bifocals got too tricky. Tilt my head back to read close-up stuff and I'd almost fall over backward."

The Guild for the Blind

We help adults live active and independent lives, working individually with each person to address their specific goals. Our services are offered free-of-charge in a supportive environment by professionally trained staff both at the Guild and at various community sites.
Creating new possibilities

"I didn't know how to deal with my impairment. Working with my fellow students allowed me to accept my vision loss."

The 10th annual Passionate Focus art exhibit is scheduled for early May. The Arts Club of Chicago will be hosting our exhibit in their beautiful space in River North. This exhibit showcases the work of artists with vision loss from across the country. A professional jury selects these artists based solely on the artistic merit of their work, focusing not on what they cannot see but rather on their unique vision.
Visit our Passionate Focus website for more information, to see photos of the art or read about last year's opening reception.
