Passionate Focus 2010 Artists
Julie Bruno
For me, painting is as much an exercise in using my brain as it is my paintbrushes. I see the details and notice lots of little things around me. When I think about the various styles of art, I feel like my heart wants me to fit into one style (Precisionism) but my vision and practicality dictate alternate styles. Trying to reconcile the two and make things work cohesively makes me think. My artistic expressions are a true balance of head and heart.
I work predominately in acrylics and watercolors. I am compelled to paint historic buildings (and preserve their architectural details) but am trying to stretch into other genres, styles and media.
While I have no formal art training, I have always valued art and architecture. I graduated from Douglass College with a Spanish Education major and a minor in Art History. I have had a diverse career path and I am currently employed by an international bank.
I am married and have a son in college. It has only been the last few years when I have had the time to focus more on my artistic endeavors.
As long as I have vision, I hope to keep painting. Winston Churchill's famous "Never, never, never, never give up" motivates me while the world inspires me.
