Two Sides To Every Story

"I often think pillows are rather boring when only one side is given consideration by being patterned. This is usually done for appeal to the sighted world. If one is blind, one discovers all surfaces as the pillow is often held in one's hands. I sometimes smile as I hand this pillow with its wonderful textural pattern on both sides to those who mainly look at it with sighted eyes. They do not even realize what they are missing. Yet, holding it always reminds me that one needs to take the time to discover and appreciate all parts that make up a whole."

My Kind of Rainbow

"I've always thought that seeing a rainbow would be wonderful because no matter what kind of mood a sighted person is in, when a rainbow is seen, you hear pleasure in the voice that is enjoying its beauty. This piece is a combination of threadings that create eighty-one different texture and color patterns. The nine colors are set up to change or "move" on a diagonal. Since the textures are also set up in this manner, I love to think of it as my kind of rainbow--one that can be appreciated with fingertips."
